End User License Agreement

Last updated: to be set at launch.

This agreement covers only the compiled Umbra application you download and run — not the source code. Umbra's source code is public and readable, but it is not licensed for reuse in any form; see the repository's LICENSE file and the Legal notice for that separate question. By downloading, installing, or running Umbra, you agree to the terms below.

1. License grant

The copyright holder grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and run Umbra, free of charge, for your own personal use.

2. No redistribution

You may not redistribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, host for others' use, or otherwise make Umbra — modified or unmodified — available to any third party. If someone else wants Umbra, point them to the official download page, not a copy of the installer.

3. No reverse engineering or modification

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code from the compiled application, and you may not modify, patch, or create derivative works from it. This clause concerns the compiled binary specifically; the source code itself is separately public and governed by the repository's own LICENSE, which grants no reuse rights either — see the Legal notice.

4. "As-is," no warranty

Umbra is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use it at your own risk.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the copyright holder is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Umbra — including data loss, business interruption, or any other direct or indirect damages — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

6. Termination

This licence ends automatically if you breach any of these terms. On termination, you must stop using Umbra and delete any copies you have.

7. Contact

Contact details to be added.
